Camping Weekend

Well I have to say that our camping weekend at Rondeau Park was a success, a rather damp success, but a success none the less. We had a good turnout for this event as usual. Friday was a beautiful day. We had a great time at the evenings campfire. Things turned a little damp on Saturday morning about 6:00am. Then after a brief clearing, the torents of rain began. Several campers we forced to leave on Saturday afternoon because their tents were flooded out by the rains. Later in the day it did clear, and we once again go to enjoy an evening together, talking and laughting, and generally having fun.

Hopefully next year will be a little drier :)

Countdown to the New Windsor Dojang

The clock is ticking! We will, in less that a month, be opening our doors to our NEW Windsor Dojang. This new dojang will be a "World Class" martial arts training facility. So, what is all the fuss really about? Let's start with the dojang. We are currently operating in Windsor with about 1200 square feet of useable space. The new dojang wil basically double the actual space available for training. The floor is amazing! It is a suspended wood floor, that is suspended on 10,000 squash balls! The room is air conditioned, the unit doing the work is an HVAC, which will supply clean, filter air from outside, thus keeping the room fresh as possible.

For adult students, there are locker rooms, showers and sauna. Great for stress relief. Hey, there is even a water fountain in the dojang!

Add this to the best martial arts system in the country, and you have an amazing training experience.

See you all on August 7th!

Modern Martial Arts Black Belt Extravaganza

On Saturday July 1st 2006 Master Curt, Master Scott, and myself we honoured to be invited as special guests for Steve Stewart's Modern Martial Arts Black Belt Extravaganza. What a show it was! GM Stewart tested about 35 people for different grades of Black Belt. The show included various breaking (bricks and boards) as well as self defense, mass attack self defense and for some Kyusho Jitus knockouts. All candidates did an excellent job! On the review board were Grand Master Stewart, several of his Black Belt instructors and GM Stewarts Kenpo instructor, 10th Dan Grand Master Frank Trejo. GM Trejo was a direct student of Grand Master Ed Parker, the founding father of American Kenpo.
Our thanks to Dr Steve Stewart for such an honour as to be included in his event.
